Japanese Terrier
The Japanese Terrier is a lively active little dog that is very feisty and always ready to play and have a good chase around the house or outside.
These small dogs are scarce even in their native land and are aka Nippon Terrier. They look just like the Fox Terrier breed and have the same characteristics.

Size: 20-33 cm (7-12 in)
Weight: 2-4 kg (4.4-8.8 lb)
Coat: Their coat is staright, fine, smooth and hard
Colour: Mostly white with black or tan markings
Lifespan: 9-11 years
Special Characteristics
These dogs are known to be cheerful and curious and need plenty to do to stop them from getting into mischief. This dog is an extrovert and loves to show off.
Exercise Requirements
The Japanese Terrier will be super active and lively at home and when out and about on walks. This is definitely a dog with high exercise requirements.
Attitude Towards:
Owners: The dog likes its independence but will show affection towards their owners.
Children: Are normally good around children, even more so if they have been raised with them.
Other Pets: These small dogs love to chase and have a high prey drive. The Japanese terrier might well injure cats and other small animals in the home.
Strangers: Are friendly around strangers if well socialised from a young age.
Other Unfamiliar Dogs: Can be problematic unless well socialised from a puppy.
What to Watch Out For
Are known to bark excessively and could well be a problem around other animals. These dogs need a lot of exercise and if they don’t get it they might well try to escape or dig.
Health Risks
This breed does not have any serious health issues to take not of here.
Ideal Owner
As you would expect the perfect owner of the Japanese Terrier needs to be active and have lots of time to play with the dog to stop it getting mischievous around the home.
