Japanese Chin

The Japanese Chin is a friendly good natured little dog that is very affectionate and makes a great companion. These dogs need grooming daily.

The Chin is rather playful and is super friendly around strangers, they like to be independent and are quite delicate little things.

These lovely little dogs love to be around people and enjoy company. These dogs are described as being happy, gentle, good-natured, independent and delicate.

Exercise Requirements

The Japanese Chin is happy with a few short walks each day and is classed as a low exercise requirements breed of dog.

Attitude Towards:

Owners: Devoted and show lots and lots of affection towards their owners.

Children: Are good around children, although they can get injured rather easily playing with boisterous children.

Other Pets: Are great around other pets, including cats.

Strangers: Are friendly towards strangers.

Other Unfamiliar Dogs: Are usually friendly towards other dogs, specially if they have been well socialised from an early age.

What to Watch Out For

Their long fur is going to bring in mud and dirt from outside into your home. You are going to have to groom the dog on a daily basis.

The dog has bulbous eyes, which are prone to injury. The dog has a short nose, which means they are prone to snoring and finding breathing difficult in hot weather.
