Phalene

The Phalene is the droopy eared version of the Papillon, just like the Papillon these dogs are lively and outgoing and are known for being devoted to their owners.

These small dogs are wary of strangers and other dog breeds unless they are well socialised from a young age, they really do enjoy company and are super playful.

Special Characteristics

These dogs love to play and are alert and lively at home. They are also described as being friendly, biddable and happy.

Exercise Requirements

These small dogs are known for being busy at home and outside. They are classed as having medium exercise requirements, two good walks each day will keep them happy.

Owners: Are devoted to their owners and will show them lots of love and affection.

Children: Are good around children but due to their small size they are easily injured by boisterous children.

Other Pets: They are know to be good around small pets including cats.

Strangers: Are wary of strangers unless well socialised.

What to Watch Out For

These dogs are known for excessive barking and may suffer from separation problems, they do get rather attached to their owners. Their silky coat requires daily grooming to prevent mats from forming.
