Tibetan Spaniel
The Tibetan Spaniel are unlikely to be used for hunting as the name implies, are more probably related to the Pekingeses and are just as lively and playful.
These small dogs are good-natured, however it is known to be a very vocal breed and could well need suitable training to prevent excessive barking.

These small dogs are alert, curious and vocal. You would also describe this breed to be assertive, playful, loyal, confident and independent.
Exercise Requirements
The dog will enjoy running around the yard or garden and are classed as having medium exercise requirements. The dog will be happy with two good walks each day.

Children: Are good around children, although they could easily get injured by boisterous children playing.
Other Pets: Are known to be good around small pets including cats.
Strangers: Friendly towards strangers, they will bark at them.

What to Watch Out For
These little dogs tend to bark excessively and appropriate training will be required to control this. Their bulbous eyes are easily injured.
The dog has a long coat that will bring in mud and dirt from outside into the house. Their fur will require daily grooming to prevent mats from forming.
Health Risks
Just two major health risks to take note of with this breed including; progressive retinal atrophy and patellar luxation.
Ideal Owner
The perfect owner of the Tibetan Spaniel would be an active, sociable person who enjoys energetic walks and playing games. If you do have kids you need to make sure that they understand that this is a delicate little dog that could get injured easily during boisterous play.
