The Dandie Dinmont Terrier can sometimes be a little stubborn but are very loyal and affectionate towards their owners but reserved with strangers.
These small dogs need a lot of socialisation when young and are easily excited. The Dinmont loves to play and only requires a small amount of exercise.

These dogs get aroused quite easily and are courageous, tenacious, stubborn, independent, sensitive, affectionate, calm and easy-going at times.
Exercise Requirements
These dogs love to play and will burn off most of their energy running around at home. One good walk each day will keep this dog satisfied. The Dandie Dinmont Terrier is classed as having low exercise requirements.

Owners: They are forever loyal, warm and friendly towards their owners.
Children: Normally good around children, even more so if raised with them.
Other Pets: These dogs have a high prey drive and chase instincts. They will chase small animals and have been known to injure cats if not raised with them.

This dog is going to need an experienced dog handler that is strong-willed. An affectionate owner will get on best with this breed who is willing to provide plenty of play.
